Ryan Seacrest can’t help but look good. In addition to a friendly, unflappable personality and good looks, Ryan Seacrest is the only person on American Idol who isn’t busy looking foolish. But the talented Secrest performs well without the backdrop of a broken chorus, and in addition to hosting several programs is considered a rising star. Ryan Seacrest has, among other distinctions, been slated to replace Dick Clark when ABC counts down the New Year. American Idol, which has brought fame to its judges and to its more talented contestants such as Kelly Clarkson, has also been one of America’s most-watched television shows. Ryan Seacrest has hosted the hit show for several seasons running, and plays as much ringmaster as host for the dynamic array of personalities and talents assembled each episode. His hosting work for this show alone would have secured his place in broadcasting history, but the accomplishments don’t stop there. |
In fact, Ryan Seacrest already has his very own star on the Hollywood walk of fame. But surprisingly, this anything-but-a-face-for-radio personality was initially appearing on FM radio in the South and on the west coast. Finally, in 2002, someone decided it was time he went in front of a camera, and he began hosting American Idol. Ryan Seacrest hosted his own television variety talk show before moving the show to radio. Sticking close to his musical roots, he is also host of the highly popular American Top 40. Ryan Seacrest also possesses journalism credentials, graduating from the University of Georgia, his home state. He was born December 24, 1974, and has been broadcasting since well before entering college. His television hosting career until American Idol consisted of infrequent appearances on syndicated television and ESPN. He works out of Los Angeles and has inked a three-year deal valued at $21 million with the cable entertainment network E! |
